Harold Wood Hospital, October 2010

This was a rather unexpected explore, not only was it visited on my birthday but it was more of a back up plan that turned out to be just as good as the original explore that we'd hoped to see that day. Although it's fair to say that Harold Wood has seen better days, there are still a lot of artifacts and interesting rooms which create an eerie setting that just reeks with atmosphere. I'm hoping to get back to visit the rest of the site in the not so distant future and definitely stop by the mortuary next time.

Flashback Jan 2010: Shorts Air Raid Shelter, Rochester,

This was where I first lost my exploring virginity and it always has been my favourite place to visit so far. It opened my eyes to what really is hidden beneath our feet and I will never forget the excitement I felt when first climbing down into the darkness.
I decided it was time to go back and get some more photos and take a mates "exploring cherry" with me.

The Grove Air Raid Shelter, 2010

I have had a marker to this place on my google earth for quite some time and it wasnt untiil I looked at adam.h's report on 28 days later that I realised it was worth checking out.
Going with the knowledge that there were some pretty freaky spiders tucked away in there (im not a big fan of spiders!) I put my hood up and entered into the darkness hunched over to avoid any 8 legged nasties!

Northamptonshire Ironstone Mines June-Aug 2010

Photos taken over Various visits.

These mines almost became abit of an obsession to me, There isnt exacly a healthy amount of information about them on the internet. So trying to find where abouts the mines are located and possible entrances took alot of time and research. Although this journey for information has led me to stumble over some old mine workers reports and lots of other intresting information.
Thus you can imagine my excitement when I finally stumbled acrross an entrance to one of the mines, Then another, Then another! I couldnt believe my luck. The research had all paid off, Within one day I had found entrances to three of them
